Dolomite to launch advanced temperature controller for microfluidic chips, slides and other devices
Microfluidics specialist Dolomite will be launching the Meros TCU-100 at this year’s Lab-on-a-Chip & Microarray World Congress in San Diego, USA, from the 18th to the 19th September. The first module in the new Meros range of plug-and-play microfluidic products, the compact TCU-100 offers advanced temperature control from 1 to 100°C for microfluidic chips, microscope slides and other devices.
Just 11cm (4 ¼ inches) wide, the chemically resistant, robust and reliable TCU-100 combines ultimate ease of use and affordability for a wide range of biological and chemical applications, including cell analysis, thermal control of microreactors, incubation of microdroplets, protein crystallization, nanoparticle synthesis and thermocycling of micro-scale samples. Using specialist electronics and temperature measurement techniques, it enables cutting-edge temperature control – including cooling, heating and thermocycling – with an accuracy of 0.5°C, stability and target temperature resolution of 0.1°C, and rapid ramp rates up to 1°C/s. Operation, data logging and graphical data display are achieved through Dolomite’s user-friendly Flow Control Centre software, or third-party software such as LabVIEW™.
Four optional sample clips are supplied with the module, providing the flexibility to quickly and securely accommodate a wide range of Dolomite and third party chips, microscope slides and other devices to the heating/cooling plate. This ensures excellent thermal conductivity and, for maximum versatility, the Meros TCU-100 can be integrated with larger microfluidic systems such as pumps, sensors and valves.
